2016 Summer Camp: A Bridge Between Cultures
June, 28th 2016 –July 9th, 2016
In June 2016, PCC Education Fund successfully hosted an enriching summer camp program in California, USA, bringing together high school students from Shanghai, China. Designed to foster intellectual collaboration, cultural exchange, and international friendships, the program provided an immersive experience that strengthened the bond between Chinese and American youth.
The program commenced in San Francisco with a warm welcome, setting the stage for a series of engaging educational, cultural, and social activities. This initiative built upon past successful exchanges, such as the 2016 visit by students from Shanghai Shangde Experimental School, further promoting cross-cultural understanding through meaningful interactions.
Throughout the camp, students participated in various activities aimed at broadening their perspectives. A highlight of the program was their visit to Richmond City Hall, where they were officially welcomed by local authorities. This interaction provided students with firsthand insight into local governance and community leadership. Additionally, they explored agricultural life by visiting a local farm, offering a unique hands-on experience with sustainable farming practices.
The program culminated in a grand graduation ceremony at De Anza High School, celebrating the students' achievements and the friendships they had forged.
This unforgettable summer experience not only enriched the participants’ global outlook but also reinforced the mission of PCC Education Fund to build bridges between cultures through education and exchange.
