2024 International Memory Training and Competition Exchange
October 17, 2024 – October 22, 2024
In October 2024, PCC orchestrated a dynamic memory training and cultural exchange event in Hebei, China, bringing together 24 high school and university students from the U.S. This immersive experience not only created a vibrant platform for intellectual collaboration between Chinese and American youth but also deepened cultural understanding and forged enduring friendships.
The event commenced on October 17, with American students partnering with peers around the world to engage in classic memory training and competition activities. Highlights included "Digital Project Training," "Speed Poker," and "Xinhua Dictionary Challenges," where participants exchanged ideas, honed their skills, and showcased their mental agility in a spirited and competitive environment. From October 18 to 19, the International Memory Training Open Championship unfolded, attracting over 500 participants from more than ten countries, including China, the U.S., Malaysia, and Thailand, across seven diverse competition categories.
Beyond the thrill of competition, American students immersed themselves in a rich tapestry of cultural exchange activities. They were captivated by performances of traditional Hebei music, Hebei Bangzi opera, original song and dance, and the short film Drum Legacy. Hands-on experiences, such as learning traditional drum-playing techniques and exploring the art of Chinese ink painting, allowed students to connect deeply with Hebei’s cultural heritage. Additionally, visits to the local school’s history museum and art gallery provided opportunities for meaningful dialogue and mutual learning between American and Chinese students.
